He Tauranga Haumaru
In support of Font’s mission, and in honour of Rauhea—the majestic 7-metre steel sculpture now standing tall in Red Square—award-winning contemporary New Zealand artist Peata Larkin (Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) has created a stunning limited edition print. She has called it ‘He tauranga haumaru: A safe anchorage’.
This elegant work reimagines the sculpture’s form and meaning, weaving in traditional Raranga (Māori weaving) symbols—Aramoana (pathway to the sea), Kaokao (protection), Pātiki (abundance), and Pātikitiki (navigation)—in flowing, organic patterns that echo harakeke strands and rippling water.
Printed on archival Giclée Hahnemühle paper (image: 330x280mm; paper: 504x305mm), each print is signed by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Font Public Art Trust.
